CLARKSON, HAMMOND & MAY LIVE

This year's Arena Show featured a hugely entertaining mix of jaw-dropping stunts, mouth-watering supercars and hilarious challenges. Highlights included a timely tribute to 50 years of James Bond, a crazy game of car conkers plus Clarkson and the TV show’s tame racing driver – The Stig – taking on the armed forces in an indoor autotest shoot-out. The Arena Show culminated with a member of the intrepid Top Gear Live Stunt Team completing the breathtaking Deadly 720+, the first back-to-back loops ever completed on two wheels.
The Top Gear Live Arena show also celebrated 10 years of its parent - the Top Gear TV show with a 4 minute special seen only by visitors to Top Gear Live (the first episode of the current format aired on BBC2 in October 2002).
Andy Wilman, Top Gear’s Executive Producer says of the special film: ‘‘We talked to The Stig about jumping out of a cake but his left elbow started twitching, which is always a warning of impending massive violence, so we abandoned that idea. In the end we decided we’ll show a lovely and mostly tasteful film celebrating our achievements over the last ten years. Firstly because it’s full of good things, and secondly the audience can have a laugh at how much the presenters have ages. Except for James, who was already very old.’’
It all added up to a fantastic day’s entertainment for all the family, petrol heads and the loyal Top Gear fans.
